Our Story

Marriage.

Act I. Dating.

Act II. The Proposal.

Act III. Marriage.

Act III. Scene I. The Wedding.

August 6, 2004 was the best day of our lives -- so far.  We were married in Eugene, Oregon at the church that Heather grew up in, by the pastor that Heather grew up with.  It was a very sentimental time for us and the family.  The best way we can think of to share this day with you is in pictures.  Why don’t you take a look?

Act III. Scene II. The First Year.

Our first year of marriage was a time of growth, as it seems to be with the first year of anything.  Learning to live together, developing habits and traditions together, and growing together.  The best of all this?  “Together.”  More so than any time before, everything was experienced together.  What a great feeling, that no matter what we did or happened to us, we were together.

Let’s see.  In the first year of marriage we:

  1. Graduated college.

  2. Got married.

  3. Moved to a new area of the country.

  4. Started new jobs.

  5. Found a church.

  6. Made new friends.

  7. Bought our first home.

The adjustment to this life was surprisingly smooth.  In hindsight, I can’t imagine a more healthy way to start a marriage.  A clean slate. No commitments. Truly starting life anew.

And talk about blessings!  We truly feel blessed beyond anything we could have hoped for.

The year wasn’t without it’s hiccups -- Heather did end up quitting her first job and we did leave the first church we had attended for nearly a year when some big changes took place that involved most of the friends we knew leaving.

Again, God was at work.  A second job for Heather materialized about 24 hours after the first ended, and we have since settled into a great church while those friends have be tremendously successful in ministry out in the wide world.

Act III. Scene III. And Beyond.

Since that first year, we have spent another year experiencing His leading and blessings.  Dave has done well at Masterworks, now as Director of New Media and Heather as a junior high teacher at Christ the King Academy.  We continue to enjoy walking the path of life together.
